Centre College recently announced ten faculty members who will be awarded tenure and will receive promotions to an associate professorship in effect September 1, 2022. They are as follows: Thomas Allen (computer and data science), Amanda Falk (biology), Satty Flaherty-Echeverria (Spanish), Amy Frederick (art history), Megs Genreau (philosophy and environmental studies), Karin Gill (psychology, with a specialization in behavioral neuroscience), Chantell Limerick (Spanish), Daniel Scott (chemistry), Robert Seebacher (music education and orchestral conducting), and Shana Sippy (history and religion).

Each professor above has accomplished much and contributed greatly to Centre’s academic successes. Allen became a member of the Centre faculty in 2016 and was the lead behind the development and implication of the college’s data science major. Falk joined in 2015, was named a Centre Scholar in 2021, and researches topics such as fossil avian anatomy and palaeobiodiversity. Flaherty-Echeverria joined Centre in 2016, has co-directed the 2018 Centre-Term in Brazil, and in fall 2018 directed the Merida program. Frederick, of 2014, is co-chair of the General Education Committee, an elected member of the Faculty Steering Committee and in fall 2021 was termed a Stodghill Research Professor. Gendreau, 2018, was voted Treasurer of the International Society for Environmental Ethics from 2019 through 2023. Gill, 2015, leads planning for the annual RICE symposium and has been co-chair of the Undergraduate Research committee for years. Limerick, 2016, attended the Exploring African Heritage in Mexico seminar put together by the Mexico-United States Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange (COMEXUS) as part of her place in the prestigious Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program. Scott, 2017, has been awarded over $90,000 dollars in grants from both the National Science Foundation and the NIH to fund cancer research. He also was awarded a spring 2022 Stodghill Research professorship. Seebacher, 2017, directs and conducts the Johnson City Symphony in Tennessee and is the assistant conductor of New York’s National Chorale among several other orchestral and artistic collaborations. Sippy, 2017, is the co-director of ReligionsMN.org and has published several academics, including her book Diasporic Desires: Making Hindus and the Cultivation of Longing to be published in 2022 by New York University Press. She co-founded the Centre College Underrepresented Faculty Council and received the C. Eric Mount, Jr. Student Appreciation Award in 2021.
