Qualtrics is the campus-wide survey platform that allows campus programs, departments, and individuals to create, distribute, and analyze surveys.  Whether you want to collect data for an event, research, feedback, or experimental design with your students, Qualtrics will work for you.

Create a website

Depending on the information you are trying to share, there are a few options available. These options include: Centre’s website, Moodle, Moodle spaces, Microsoft Teams, Library’s CCRIC, Google sites or WordPress.com. Check out the concept map on choosing the right platform. This will help you to determine which platform is the best fit for your needs.

Create videos for lecture capturing

Panopto as our official video/audio platform to house Centre created and student created audio and video files. Video and audio files that are housed in Panopto can be accessed both on and off campus. You must log in via Single Sign On (SSO) with your Centre username and password.

Create and edit images (Photoshop alternatives)

  • GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) – Gimp is a free and open-source graphics editor which is great for image editing/manipulation, and freeform drawing.
  • Photopea – Photopea is a free (ad-supported) web-based alternative to Photoshop that allows you to edit or create graphics. It’s perfect for those who need the features of Photoshop, but only every six months or so.
  • Canva – Canva is a free-to-use (with restrictions) graphic design platform that allows you to easily customize your own graphics from an expansive list of templates.

Create and edit PDF files

To create pdf files, the Microsoft software programs allow you to create pdf files.

If you are looking to edit a PDF file, the best option would be to use Adobe Acrobat installed on a campus computer located in the Mac lab (next to Vahlkamp Theatre).
