Oral Communication
Listed below are various oral communication resources that you can use or modify for your classes, as well as additional resources that can assist you when incorporating an oral communication component in your class.
Assignments
Below are a few examples of assignments that you can use or modify for your classes.
- BIO 110: Group Presentation of Lab Experiment – Includes advice for student presenters, format guidelines, and instructor evaluation form (submitted by Peggy Richey)
- BIO 230: 15 minute oral presentation on a human or animal nutrition topic (submitted by Peggy Richey)
- BIO 340: 5 minute oral presentation on a microbe (submitted by Peggy Richey)

Recording Student Presentations
When recording student presentations, there are two options that are available.
Option 1
- Faculty can check out a video camcorder and tripod from the Library and set it up in their class. This would be recorded on the SD card and you would have to upload the footage to either One Drive and share it out with your class, or you can upload it to your Panopto library.
Option 2
- Faculty can check out a web-cam, tripod and USB extension cable from the Library and set it up in their class. Faculty would then use Zoom to record the student presentations. When recording Zoom sessions, they now automatically record to the cloud and the footage is stored in your Panopto library.
