Chowan served as Centre’s temporary dining facility following the demolition of Cowan Dining Hall in June 2008 and the completion of the Campus Center in October 2009. Chowan was completed in time for the June 22, 2008, arrival of students participating in the Governor’s Scholars Program. The structure was remodeled during the summer and fall of 2010, and is now a multipurpose facility used for large-scale meetings, catered events, conferences and indoor tennis and basketball.
